DOT LAUNCHES KULTURISMO: A CULTURAL TOURISM MANUAL

The Department of Tourism, is pleased to announce the production of a Philippine Cultural Tourism Product Manual under its Kulturismo Program. This manual is designed to serve as a helpful guide and resource material for tour guides, tour operators, local tourism councils and cultural workers.

It is hoped that through this resource material, tourism practitioners will be encouraged to develop and promote cultural tourism which is seen as a potent medium for cultural awareness and understanding.

The CD features a variety of cultural tourism products which includes: CULTURAL TOURS, that allow visitors to discover various cultural destinations; WORLD HERITAGE TOURISM, which focuses on the cultural and natural heritage areas considered to be of outstanding value to humanity; ETHNO TOURISM, which brings indigenous cultural communities in as partners in tourism development; KULINARYA, a program promoting the Philippines as a culinary destination; and ARCHAELOGICAL TOURISM, which deals with converting excavation sites into destinations for learning and tourism.
